La flotte de Voyageur comprenait 3 grandes divisions =

1- Achat d’autobus usagés, services spéciaux (Grand Express et Voyageur-2), location et véhicules de démonstration non inclus dans la numérotation standard en plus d’achats de véhicules usagés dont la numérotation originale fut conservée (par exemple pour dépanner lors des Olympiques en 1976) ;

2- Autobus provenant des Entreprises Transport Provincial ( 1970) plus l’achat d’autocars neufs jusqu’en 1973 ;

3- Liste recommençant au numéro 1000, en 1973, et se terminant au numéro 2400, en 1990, lors de la disparition de Voyageur.

Voyageur procédait à un renumérotation continuelle des autocars afin de les transférer d’une division à l’autre (voir les divisions ci-dessous), ce qui rend complexe la rédaction de la liste complète des autobus.

Les origines de la compagnie Voyageur

La Cie de Transport Provincial a mis en service les premiers autocars
avec toilette, en mars 1958 sur les parcours express de Montréal –
Québec – Chicoutimi.

En 1959, la Compagnie lance une grande campagne de publicité en créant
le service “Voyageur Canadien”.

La division ontarienne “Colonial Coach Lines” le nomme “Canadian Voyageur”.

La publicité annonce les commodités suivantes :
salle de toilette,
climatisation,
suspension pneumatique,
fauteuils réglables.

Le service s’étend avec les années sur tous les parcours express, et, le
1er janvier 1964, la “Cie de Transport Provincial” transfère à une
nouvelle filiale au nom de  “Voyageur Provincial Inc”, tous ses parcours
interurbains. Le nom du service “Voyageur Canadien” disparait.

“Voyageur Provincial Inc” devient “Voyageur Québec Inc”., en 1968, et,

“Voyageur (69) Inc”, en 1969. la compagnie est vendue en 4
sections en 1991.

“Colonial Coach Lines Ltd” devient “Voyageur Colonial Ltd”, en 1969.

La compagnie est vendue à “Greyhound Canada Inc, en 1991.
